“We are going to know a new freedom and a new happiness.” Page 83 — Happiness eluded me for a very long time before I was changed in recovery. I had moments of happiness, and feelings resembling it, but those moments were short lived. Freed from the compulsion to drink, sanity became possible, and real change. I slowly discovered what matters in life, being present, connecting in authenticity, serving others, being loving and lovable. Life’s still not easy but it’s rich—it’s fulfilled and worth living.
