“When he sees you know all about the drinking game, commence to describe yourself as an alcoholic. Tell him how baffled you were, how you finally learned that you were sick.” Pages 91-92 — We cannot be useful to newcomers if we forget we were once as sick as they now are. We need always remember we are not cured, that we are still alcoholics, though much improved, though recovered. Our recovery is contingent on our helping others, not from a place of superiority nor inferiority, but equality. One drunk helping another.
