A spiritual experience, he conceded, was absolutely necessary, but the price seemed high upon the basis suggested.” Page 155 — To admit I was a problem drinker was easy enough for the consequences were evident in every aspect of my life. But to admit I was fully out of options and that my will power was completely insufficient seemed somehow impossible. I believed God was real but did not believe myself worthy of divine assistance.
