“When… we speak to you of God, we mean your own conception of God… At the start, this was all we needed to commence spiritual growth, to effect our first conscious relation with God as we understood Him. Afterward, we found ourselves accepting many things which then seemed entirely out of reach.” Page 47 — In Step One, we admit we need help. In Step Two, we find help. And Step Three, simply, is only a decision. We decide to begin a new way of thinking by asking God (our conception) for help. And then we follow through, one day, then another, by doing the work of the remaining steps. It’s not complicated, though our fears, prejudices, and lack of understanding makes it seem so. Step Three, then, is a leap of faith. A decision to try something new and different because our old lives don’t work well.
