“While I lay in the hospital [only days sober] the thought came that there were thousands of hopeless alcoholics who might be glad to have what had been so freely given me. Perhaps I could help some of them. They in turn might work with others.” Page 14 — Too often we lose sight of the heart of recovery. Helping others is crucial and critical. “Our very lives, as ex-problem drinkers, depend upon our constant thought of others and how we may help meet their needs.” (Page 20) This is why we do the work of the twelve steps. We are changed so that we are able to help others and save ourselves. Help one; save two. Happy Saturday! (Who can you help today?)
