Never talk down to an alcoholic from any moral or spiritual hilltop; simply lay out the kit of spiritual tools for his inspection. Show him how they worked with you. Offer him friendship and fellowship.” Page 95 — This has been a challenge for me. I want to save them all. I feel quite passionate about recovery and the steps and am not afraid to preach from the mountaintops. But that’s rarely effective. Quiet humility needs to be our aim. Each person needs to be beat down to their own bottom, and only then are they able to make their own decision to walk the path of recovery.
