“[We] will necessarily spend much time with other alcoholics, but this activity should be balanced.” Page 131 — Our continued involvement in recovery, in fellowship, and in service is critically important to our continued sobriety and sanity. But life is more than meetings. We find much purpose in service to newcomers but we also find purpose outside of A.A. In our families, in our communities, in our careers. Happy sobriety is about fullness and balance. Once we are fully sober (we’ve worked all twelve steps thoroughly!), life takes on new dimensions and levels of fulfillment. May we be open to the newness of today.
