“‘Yes, that’s me,’ said the sick man, ‘the very image…’” Page 157 — I can relate to this man. And I could relate from my first few A.A. meetings to many or most of the people whose stories I heard. We are “many and varied,” but we are also very much the same in that we drank too much so we could feel less, and once we began drinking we rarely if ever controlled the amount we took. And when we tried to stop “for good and all,” we found we could not. Our stories are similar because we have the same disease of alcoholism, and, the same solution.
